The Gateway project comprises twin 37-storey office towers with identical parallelogram floor arrangements. Wind resistance is provided by a tube-in-tube system connected with post-tensioned floors. This central service core serves as the inner tube, while the outer peripheral columns and spandrels form the other tube. High walls around the top of the building help to reduce the vibration and drift of these slender structures. |
